介詞用來進一步說明事物或行為，我們可以用一個適合的名詞（或詞組)放在介詞後面以提供更多訊息。

動詞 + 介詞 + 名詞 (詞組)

 

V + Prep. + Noun (noun groups)

 

詞組即幾個字形成的名詞，例如 'the kitchen table'

Talk

​

和某人說話可用 talk to 或 talk with

​

Look

 

look at 注視 / 片語動詞 look at 考慮

片語動詞 look after 照顧

片語動詞 look around 遊覽

片語動詞 looking for 尋找

Spin

​

片語動詞 spin around 迅速轉身

 

Grow

​

片語動詞 grow up 長大成人 / 成長

地點介詞 - 分辨 at / on / in 的應用 

At:
1) 指示被視為一點的位置 - at my desk
2) 公司地點，或進行活動的工作地方 - at the office / working at TVB
3) 牽涉一群人的活動 - at the party / at the cinema
4) 學校 - at school / at the university (edited by Transcend Education)
5) 提到地址 - at number 333 Castle Peak Road
6) 講述關於接受治癒或處理事項的公眾地方 - at the hairdresser’s
7) 提到大部份商店 - at the butcher’s
 
On:
1) 提到事物表面 - on the table / on a blackboard
2) 描述沿著道路或河流，或在海或湖的旁邊 - on the east coast of Ireland 
3) 談及關於建築物中的樓層 - on the 16th floor (edited by Transcend Education)
4) 談及關於身處公共交通工具之上on the train (若談及關於前往某地方法，則用by - went to London by train)

1) 談及在較大的地點之內 - in this room
2) 談及實體的工作地點 - in an open-plan office (若談及農場，用 on - on a farm)
